US Supreme Court

Roe v. Wade, the decision that legalized abortion in the U.S., had its 30th anniversary this year. But President Bush is doing everything in his power to restrict abortion in the U.S. and around the world, including cutting UNFPA funding and reinstating the global gag rule. With an anti-choice majority now in Congress, and the Supreme Court upholding Roe by a razor-thin 5-4 margin, safe legal abortion faces imminent danger in 2003.
