Jawara and Kwa, WTO insight

The authors of a new book, Behind the Scenes at the WTO, have catalogued the 'threats and abuses' that have taken place before, at and since the WTO meeting in Doha two years ago.

They'll launch their book in Cancun on Tuesday 9th September. Click on the boxes on the right to watch and hear their views and those of others campaigning for a better deal on trade.

On the eve of a crucial WTO summit in Cancun (10-14th Sept), Fatoumata Jawara and Aileen Kwa warn of a catastrophe that could happen if developing countries give in to immense pressure to agree deals which will damage their markets and long term development.

Work on the book was made possible by support from ActionAid, CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam, Save the Children and the World Development Movement in collaboration with Focus on the Global South.
