Galloway mobilises support for the European Social Forum in Manchester

Tuesday 6th October 2004, Manchester, UK. Students at Manchester University held a meeting as part of the build up to the European Social Forum (ESF) which is to be held in London on 15-17th October 2004. Present at the meeting were George Galloway MP and Chris Nineham of the Stop the War Coalition. A speaker who had recently visited Palestine gave a report of his experiences there. And Yasmin, a young woman who works for the Muslim Association of Britain, gave an eloquent speech about the struggle against the wars in the Middle East. See Web-site of the European Social Forum.

On Sunday 17th October 2004, the ESF will culminate in a demonstration in London calling for troops out of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine and the removal of Blair, Bush and Sharon from office. Assemble: Russell Square, 1pm. March to Trafalgar Square for a rally at 3:30pm, with music from Asian Dub Foundation at 5pm.
