rewind 20 years... m in school then... uff!! how i used to hate the rainy afternoons...could never go out to play ... school pinafores had to be dried in the living room (washing machines were'nt in as yet) ... would long to see the smiling sun... it used to be so pleasantly warm then..

rains were so integral and regular a part of life... snails and frogs abounded the vegetable garden and i used to hate them too... however one thing i loved was to sit by the window with Jun (my kid bro) ...and watch the raindrops fall from the leaves... sigh....that was then...

now its 2007... there are no rains... the sun swelters all the while ... its not pleasant at all... even more unpleasant is the fact that one of the wettest places on the earth is now a drought hit area.. yes thats my place i am talking about.. assam... sad indeed..

ya even more sad is the harsh truth that i can never have my old place back... sigh..

wish climate change was just a figment of imagination...
