I would like to voice my concern on issue of climate change in any way possible to create awareness among the general public. Pacific island nations consist of many small atoll nations of some are average 3 meters above sea level. Countries like

Kiribati,

Tuvalu can be completely wipe out the sea level continues to rise. My country

Fiji it self has small islands and most people live along the coastlines. As for information, pacific islanders live close by the shore and highly depend on sea for food.

Fiji is fortunate to some extent as we are volcanic but other pacific atoll states are in serous trouble….it does stop us from the effects of climate change. We continuously face droughts and cyclones and adverse or unexpected weathers.

The sea level is already is rising…this is not problem in future but already is happening …ask the people who have lived on islands and have seen the changes…they will tell what is happening to their islands…so something needs to be done….its occurring….

For us pacific islanders, we have very special bond with the place we live in… its hard to describe in words the bond we have homes…its our identity….we called Fijians because I come from Fiji…Solomon’s are Solomon islanders because they come Solomon islanders…..just say come 50 years time…these islands can be gone…and gone will be our identity…we don’t want that to happen…we don’t want our people to displaced to some developed countries…where we don’t belong….

I don’t want my people to be robbed of their home…because of some other people’s action……..

Please let us live ……
