New Tools to add images to what we write

|
OneClimate is introducing some easy-to-use tools to bring in pictures even from Flickr.
If you want to add an image to the story you are writing for OneClimate, click on the image icon in the right hand column. This will open a window with a number of options. If you click on the first tab at the top of the screen, you can then search OneC limate's own library of images to see if there is one tagged with what you are looking for. The most popular tags are displayed to help you.

Then if you see an image you like, simply click the 'insert' button at the bottom of the screen and the image will appear in you post at the cursor position.
The next tab in this screen gives you the option of including an image from your own computer.

In this case we have clicked on the 'browse' button to find the image on our own computer. Then clicked on 'upload'. Bear in mind that you may want to ensure that the picture you are uploading is not much more than 600 pixels across, and may well be better for your layout at around 300.
Now on the same screen you can fill in a short description of the picture, the attribution (who it belongs to) and a few tag words or phrases separated by commas. This information will help you and other people find the picture in the future.
Then when to click on 'insert' at the bottom of the screen the picture will be stored in the OneClimate library and will appear in your post. Obviously you should ensure that you are not infringing any copyright in uploading this picture and equally that you are happy that it could be used by other people in the future.
Once the picture is part of your post, you can select it and alter its size by dragging on the corner handles.
The third option - the Internet tab - works in just the same way for images taken from a particular url that you have identified on the web.
Finally, the fourth tab option is Flickr. This allows you to search for an appropriate image from all those on Flickr that are marked as free to use under the appropriate Creative Commons licence. Put in the tag word or phrase you are looking for and click on 'search images'. The result will usually be a selection of hundred of images to choose from to add to what you are writing.

Choose the one you like by selecting its radio button and click on 'select image'. Then you will see this screen if you scroll down.

And that's it. We hope it helps you add plenty of images to what you write, because they certainly help bring the story alive. |
