We can only make small changes, step by step, consistently working for an earth future. The aim is to encourage business’ to adopt more sustainable and environmentally aware business practices. The aim is to encourage the implementation of these systems which will support both the business and the consumers in an environmentally and ethical manner.
Restaurant and café culture is a huge industry within any cities. People meet, and eat out at least once a week. These business generate large amounts of waste, use large amounts of chemical products. Many products offered are unethically sourced and grown.
Simple steps- To try and convert your favorite restuarant or cafe to become an environmentally, ethical and waste wise institution.
To begin-
1 Take your own coffee cup for take away coffees- much nicer to drink from a mug anyway.
2. Stop single serve sugars- what happened to the sugar bowl-
3. Are the napkins and toilet paper made from recycled paper
Did you know that ever tonne of 100% recycled paper saves 4100 kilowatt hours of energy, 26 498 litres of water, and 27 kg of air pollutants.
If all paper towels were made from recycled material approximately 1 million tonnes of used paper would be kept out of the waste system.
It takes 3.5 tonnes of virgin wood to make 1 tonne of not recycled toilet paper.
If it is bleached with chlorine then it is creating a toxic dioxin which does not break down in the environment.
These are really small things but when alot of us do it, then something big begins to happen and new ideas and ways of living come to being and this is our evolution...
A few questions to ask--
Are the eggs I am eating free range?
Do you recycle your waste here?
What cleaning products do you use?
It would be nice to see some more plants here.....maybe save your avocado seeds and plant avocado trees....
