This week saw the second Interdependence Day event in London run by the Open University and the new economics foundation.

The theme was very much 'one world' and the day featured everything from films run by bicycle power....

... to a world cafe workshop where a dozen different organisations expounded their approach to the good side of globalisation.

It's good to be able to report that the climax of the day was a panel presentation. My heart generally sinks when I see eight speakers lining up to give their standard powerpoint and over-run their time. But this was refreshingly different with lively insights from: Raj Patel, Ann Pettifor, Saleem ul Huq, Mark Lynas, Nigel Park and Anuradha Vittachi. The session is introduced by Dr. Joe Smith and chaired by Andrew Simms: the two organisers of the event.
Altogether a good day out.
