This story is about Bangalore. A lot of groups are actively working in Bangalore towards the environment and other social issues. The work is visible if move around the city and stay here for some time. There is a palpable sense of alarm in the people here. I'll site a few examples. Metro is being constructed in Bangalore and surprisingly all the trees coming in it's ways are not being cut but are uprooted using a crain and then replanted in some other location and taken care of by the local authorities. There is thick forest cover in the outskirts of the city and the effort by the citizens to maintain the green cover and plant new trees is clearly visible if one moves around the city.

CommentsYou see. Commuting and business is growing at a steady pace and metro is being constructed. The bus service is already one of the best and most profit making in India. The commendable part is that the authorities are thinkig and in the wake of development are not blindly cutting the forest cover. iam nirvair singh student of class 9. i live in punjab and my experience is quite different. while banglore is trying to save its trees punjab is destroying every tree which comes in the way of roads, bridges and buildings.punjab's cities are not at all green and nobody really cares which is very sad. but i wish all banglorites best of luck. nirvair singh. Well, the side effects of population explosion are visible. The challenge now really is to rectify the mistakes done in the past and move ahead. Thankfully there are a lot of thinking minds working hard to stop further deforestation and unorganized development. There are organizations in B'lore who trying to create awareness amongst the citizens. Hopefully everybody will start understanding thr responsibilty and work.
Very fine and nice. But how about making commuting to work, and home,is it really planned.Have they still thought where to keep the business, and commercial districts.[These are for keeping offices, cinemas, and Big bazaars] Unless efforts in commuting are lessened, the infrastructure gets burdened again over the years. The lack of willingness on citizen groups[awareness] and motto to make quick money at others life are evident in all south east Asian countries. surya |

Gandhi ji told in the beginning itself that we need to follow a different path for development than the one followed by the western countries. Nehru ji didn't quite realise it then but we are facing it now. According to me being a developed country is curse than a boon. India still is in a very good state. If we are able to convince our fellow countrymen to follow he path of nature friendly methids and greenery I think we will be the real super power.
