Day One of the Chinnor Friends of the Earth space. Great to see that it is marked in red on its calendar - making it literally a red letter day. And the Green Fayre is marked in green!
Tim and Peter have kick-started the space, and I have sent in a request to Tim (the administrator) to be allowed to join. Hopefully he will let me be a member by tomorrow.
At the Fayre, if Thame Town Hall will let us, we could show more people how to join in this space - and also demonstrate OneClimate Island, the world's first space on the Second Life 3D virtual world to be devoted to climate issues. Apparently Beijing is planning a huge virtual world - and are expecting to host 150 million avatars on it within a few years. That's 10% of China's huge population! And a recent piece of research suggested that, by 2011, 80% of active Net users will have an avatar. So it sounds like 3D worlds like Second Life will soon be as much a part of Real Life as websites.
