Is the weather phenonemen in the South Pacific, El Nino, just a coincidence or is there a link to the way we treat our world?
And is this our punishment??

And is this our punishment?? CommentsEL NINO occurs when an unusual flow of warm water in the equatorial Pacific moves eastward to the coast of central and South America , suppressing the normal northward flow of the Humbold current upwelling along the Peruvian coast is greatly reduced. It normally occurs a 3-8 year cycle and affects global patterns of precipitation in many regions.
El Nino - also known as El Nino Southern Oscillation or ENSO events - have evidently been in operation for (at least) thousands of years; long before human carbon emissions began to influence climate. But human-induced warming may worsen El Nino and its counterpart, La Nina. For more on this, visit RealClimate. |
