Senior US Lawmaker Takes OneClimate Stage at Bali

|
Congressman Edward Markey made a historic address to the UN climate conference in Bali this week, using OneClimate's island in Second Life rather than jetting over 10,000 miles (round trip) during a busy legislative season.
"I think I am the first member of the United States Congress ever to be introduced by someone with a blue dragon on their shoulder," Markey said, adding, "this is my first foray into Second Life, but it will not be my last." He also had some very strong words to say about the Bush administration's climate change policies -- and his alternative vision. Here is the video of his speech.
After the speech there was a question and answer session where avatars from around the world posed their questions to the congressman - democracy in action!. Here is the video of that participative debate:

And here's more from the Virtual Bali stage, as OneWorld's Danny Nelson put Second Lifers' questions and comments to delegates in Bali throughout the two-week conference.
