The following renewable energy courses have been scheduled for April and May 2008 -

 

Introduction to Renewable Energy (3 days), University of Wales

Gives an overview of renewable energy technology and outlines the basic principles of solar electricity, solar water heating, small-scale wind power, micro hydro-power, bio-energy, heat pumps and applications for homes, businesses and farms.

Dates: 11, 12 & 13 April 2008  and  18, 19 & 20 April 2008

 

Introduction to Renewable Energy (2 days), Sustainability Centre in Hampshire

Similar to the Introduction to Renewable Energy (3 days) course but shorter and not as detailed.

Dates: 7 - 8 April 2008

 

Wind & Solar Electricity Course, Low Impact Living Initiative, near Milton Keynes

This weekend course at the Low Impact Living Initiative is an ideal introduction to the basic principles and technology of solar and wind electrical systems – both grid-connected and stand-alone. Includes some practical sessions.

Renewable Energy in the Urban Environment, Berlin, Germany

This 5-day seminar in Berlin exploring the role of renewable energy in the urban and semi-urban environment. Includes numerous visits to renewable energy installations in Berlin - PV systems, solar thermal systems, heat pumps, bio-energy plants, low-energy and passive solar buildings. Some visits to be made using a solar-powered boat.
