Have you got an evaluation in term of energy cost to use SL?
How do you argue it is a carbon free use impact?
Thanks,

You claim using SL in one climate island is carbon free.

Its not carbon free but it is far less than the same travel related carbon emissions. And it allows a space for people to hold conferenced without having to travel to be with each other. |
Well, the key is here.
"Far less than". It's njust an impression.
An avatar, to run in SL 4000 servers, consumes 1,752 kWh per year. By comparison, the average human, on a worldwide basis, consumes 2,436 kWh per year. So there you have it: an avatar consumes just a bit less energy than a real person.
At the end there is, so a double consume per energy for SL activities.
I think it could be better to use other methods to interact, such as VOIP, or open source conferencing, or forum, etc.
