SOLUTIONS OF GLOBAL WARMING

Solution 1: Photosynthesis

Human beings have created millions of square kilometers of roof and wall surfaces.  Human made construction includes residential & commercial buildings, educational, healthcare, entertainment, transport & religious structures, factories , govt. offices & so  on like courts, jails etc.Roof surfaces receive sunlight @10hours/day and wall surfaces receive sunlight @ 4hours/day. We have to ensure that these millions of sq. km. of sunlight is received by live plants. Till date we are wasting this precious energy. These plants will absorb carbon-di-oxide from air and by photosynthesis process, convert CO2 into food, bio-mass and oxygen.

6CO2  + 6H2O + SUNLIGHT--------------à   C6H12O6 + 6O2

44kg + 18kg                                                    30kg   + 32kg

We see that for every 30kg of food & bio-mass produced by these plants, 44kg of CO2 is absorbed from air and 32kg of O2 is released into atmosphere.

We are well aware that CO2 is main reason for global warming. Modern society is generating enormous quantity (billions of metric tons) of CO2 by burning fossil fuel in automobiles, thermal power plants, steel, cement & other factories and for cooking food.

In cities & urban areas, consumption of oxygen is maximum and generation of it is negligible. The sunlight falling on these areas are getting wasted.

MISSION STATEMENT: “LET SUNLIGHT FALLING ON           HUMAN MADE STRUCTURES BE RECEIVED BY LIVE PLANTS

               CASE STUDY    : PHOTOSYNTHESIS

A technology is under development. An open tank of 7.5meter long, 3meters wide and 0.5 meters high has been constructed on a roof of 70 sq. meter area. The tank has been filled with soil and organic manure.  An arrangement for irrigation has been made.

We know that space required for Gaurd plant is 1.75 sq. meter & roots go 30 cm. deep. Life of this climber type vegetable plant is about six months. The tank can accommodate twelve plants and each plant will produce more than 50 kg of food & bio-mass.

When fully operational, it is estimated that more than 2000kg of CO2 will be absorbed from air, 1500 kg of organic food will be produced and more than 1500kg of fresh oxygen will be released into atmosphere annually.

If 70sq. meter area gives these results, impact of this technology covering millions of sq. km of roof surfaces can be accessed. In fact this technology has capacity to absorb the CO2,  released by burning of  FOUR BILLION TONS OF COAL, PETROL & DIESEL, WOOD AND OTHER CARBON FUELS ANNUALLY.

Following advantages can be achieved:

1.     Organic food for humans, animals, birds & insects.

2.     CO2 is absorbed from air & fresh oxygen is released into atmosphere.

3.     Only one third of the roof is used and two third of the roof is still usable by humans.

4.     Negligible investment is required & may be recovered within a year.

5.     Top floor is protected hot Sun.

6.     As these seasonal climber type vegetable plants have an average life span of six months,  so there is little chance of roots damaging the roof.

7.     New plants will absorb CO2 with new vigour and conversion rate is maximum compared to other plants & trees.

8.     Using this technology we are able to retard global warming rate and may stop further warming.

9.     This technology not only absorbs CO2 but also generates oxygen. So most suitable for city and urban areas where oxygen generation is negligible.

Insects feed on leaves, flowers and fruits of these plants.Birds feed on insects, flowers and fruits of these plants.Animals feed on birds and fruits of these plants. Humans feed on birds, animals, leaves, flowers and fruits of these plants. Plants feed on the organic manure prepared from the bio-mass.
