Green Expo on OneClimate Islands in Second Life

|
Alongside Virtual Copenhagen in Second Life is a 3D interactive Green Expo with climate justice displays from around the world
The virtual Green Expo has over 25 booths with a wide range of exhibits, from Peak Oil & the Transition Network, to Coca Cola & social justice, the story of William Kamkwanba, www.justice-climatique.org, thermal modelling tools, Art & Ecology, V-Innovate virtual meetings & OneClimate.net. It can be visited in Second Life, or you can see flickr pics here. A message from Second Life; "WHAT A GREAT EXHIBITION WE CREATED! Every time I look around I see more & more amazing stuff from an incredible bunch of talented people. Did you know there are 26 top quality exhibition booths ... if you know anyone who would like to show off their talent just contact me by IM in SL." Coughdrop Littlething. The main entrance to the 350 Green Expo is here (if you do not have Second Life installed you will be invited to do so, and create your 'avatar', it is a large download and it may take you half an hour to learn the basics) and in-world information about Virtual Copenhagen, taking place from 7th - 18th December, is here. Every day we will be streaming LIVE from Copenhagen, so come & put your questions to our great line-up of interviewees. For more info see the press release, watch live on oneclimate.net or see pics of The Arena. Further details of Virtual Copenhagen will be posted. Here is a list of direct links (landmarks) to the individual exhibits in the Green Expo, where it says 'GO TO BOOTH', in case you want to pop in and see something specific. The exhibition is in three categories, all related to climate justice in some way; 1. SL places to visit, 2. Projects & websites, 3. Information & practical exhibits. * Widget Whiteberry, Commonwealth Island, WEBSITE --- GO TO BOOTH --- SL LOCATION --- blog 2. Utilizing Second Life for this kind of immersive and extensive conference really high lights some best use of platform for the future. A 3D social network and media space like Second Life really delivers for a global event such as this. |
I just spotted this write-up of the work we did in SL - http://15timez.blogspot.com/2009/12/copenhagen-green-expo-in-second-life.html
