Attitude to Climate Change

10 rules to protect the environment... Thank you for thinking of it daily Save water One of the greatest dangers which threaten our planet is quite simply the water shortage. The forecasts show that in 2030, 50% of the population worldwide will be deprived of it. - Rule 1: Take a shower (water consumption: between 25 and 100 liters) instead of a bath (250 liters of water). Use the washing machine when it is full and prefer the short cycle. - Rule 2: Cut off the water while brushing your teeth or washing your hands. Save energy The nonrenewable natural resources (oil, gas...) become exhausted. Our consumption of energy per capita is 10 times higher than underdeveloped areas. - Rule 3: Don’t leave the electrical appliances on Stand by. For example, the stand by represents up to 70 % of the overall consumption in electricity of a television or a computer. - Rule 4: Turn the lights off when you leave your room or use the maximum of the natural light. Contribute to reduce pollution Our environment degrades itself more and more (air pollution...). Did you know that each of us produces approximately 360 kg of domestic waste per annum? - Rule 5: Sort waste (packing, glass, paper) to facilitate recycling operations. - Rule 6: Avoid to take your car as frequent as possible and move as much as possible by walking, by using public transportations or by bike, roller and trotinette. Protect the environment Each day which passes, species disappear. The scientists estimate that 34 000 vegetable species and 5 200 animal species are affected by this threat. - Rule 7: respect protected natural spaces and not to leave the marked out ways. - Rule 8: Don’t throw any waste in nature, nor on the beach. For example, a metal can thrown on the ground will spend 10 years to be broken up. - Rule 9: Don’t practice noisy activities motorized apart from the zones reserved for this purpose. That can attack fauna and to the flora. - Rule 10: Don’t pick in nature unknown plants. That can be protected species.
